Due to successful growth, we are looking to fill a HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST position. This position is located in our manufacturing plant in Shelbyville, Indiana and is responsible for supporting and managing various aspects of the Human Resources function at the operations level including entering timecard information & distributing payroll checks. |
| Duties: |
- Enters timecard information; collects and stores timecards; enters weekly schedule changes in the payroll system; picks-up and distributes wage payroll checks.
- Creates employee work schedules for both facilities to allow for training, vacations, and leaves of absences.
- Maintains wage employee job qualifications on the database.
- Tracks all employee leaves-leave of absence, Family Medical Leave, workers compensation, etc.
- Represents Knauf at unemployment hearings.
- Administers all plant absenteeism counseling.
- Plans and coordinates all interviewing and hiring activities for wage employees.
- Coordinates new employee orientation for all plant salaried and wage positions.
- Provides Knauf employees and/or dependents with advice, counsel, and help in all aspects of benefits including enrollment and claims processing.
- Serves as liaison for Knauf with the TPA benefit vendor and the administration of employee claims.
- Coordinates benefit changes with the Payroll Supervisor.
- Plans, organizes and implements plant employee events.
- Provides support for union/company negotiations.
- Keeps up with daily filing - personnel, medical, safety, payroll, benefits, etc.

| Qualifications: |
- Associates Degree in business or management
- PHR certification preferred
- Minimum of five years human resource experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Experience in employee benefits administration
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- User level skills with other Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience in a union environment preferred
- Willing to file HR records
